Chang Gung Memorial Hospital’s
Department of Plastic SurgeryCraniofacial Center (CFC)
In 1976, Taipei Chang Gung Memorial Hospital was established. In 1981, the Chang Gung Cleft Lip and Palate Medical Team officially set up the nation's first—and Southeast Asia's first—Craniofacial Center. In 1998, it expanded to Linkou Chang Gung, and in 2008, it moved to Taoyuan Chang Gung. Since 1976, the medical team has served over 30,000 cleft lip and palate patients and more than 1,000 patients with congenital craniofacial deformities in Taiwan. The team is dedicated to promoting patient-centered care, interdisciplinary healthcare, and multinational clinical and basic research, making it a world-renowned center for cleft lip, palate, and craniofacial care.

Fellow Reading Club
On Monday mornings, our international fellows and visitors gather to brainstorm key topics in craniofacial surgery, including cleft care, orthognathic surgery, microtia, and obstructive sleep apnea.
CFC Morning Meeting
The program includes journal clubs, special lectures by surgeons and orthodontists, invited guest presentations, and fellows' farewell presentations.

CGMH collaborated Missions
Since 2002, in collaboration with the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation, we have conducted four surgical missions annually to neighboring countries, including Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Mongolia. Together with local seed doctors, our missions focus on primary reconstructions for congenital craniofacial anomalies. Furthermore, we collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to achieve a better functional outcome.
Our craniofacial staff
Working with our international fellows is a great passion of mine, and I feel blessed to have been mentored by Prof. Samuel Noordhoff. It has been a privilege to help organize the annual Chang Gung Forum. I look forward to welcoming our international friends to visit our team here at Chang Gung and hope you have a wonderful stay in Taiwan.

I coordinate surgical care, admissions, and post-operative follow-ups for the families of patients with congenital anomalies. I am always available in the clinic to help schedule their staged operations and follow-up visits. I truly love my job and have been happily dedicated to this work for two decades.
by SmallI work in the wards to educate patients preparing for surgery and provide comprehensive care during their immediate post-operative recovery. I also join the doctors on ward rounds and instruct families on how to safely manage home care.

I coordinate the scheduling and post-operative follow-up visits for all orthognathic surgery patients. Additionally, I collaborate closely with orthodontists to facilitate communication and track patient progress throughout their pre- and post-operative orthodontic treatment.
by 噗噗As a speech therapist specializing in cleft care, I love talking, playing, and reading with my 'angels' to improve their speech and communication skills. I also assist with nasopharyngoscopy to evaluate velopharyngeal function and generate detailed speech assessment reports.

In the surgical simulation office, I assist surgeons with 3D modeling for microtia reconstruction and virtual surgical planning for orthognathic surgery to optimize both functional and esthetic outcomes. I also fabricate 3D-printed implants and surgical wafers to ensure precision and facilitate a seamless surgical workflow.
